Everything You Need to Know About the AAPACN Podcasts—LTC DON Chat and LTC NAC Chat

The AAPACN Podcasts—LTC DON Chat and LTC NAC Chat—offer tips, strategies, updates, advice, and breaking news on the most important topics in long-term and post-acute care. Regular hosts and AAPACN staff members provide their own best practices and insights, as well as a breakdown of updates and regulations. They also interview well-known experts in the field to provide listeners with multiple perspectives and expertise. This AAPACN Leading in Care blog will cover some important basics about the podcasts, including the differences in the two podcast channels, how to access them, how to subscribe, and how to submit topic and speaker suggestions.  

Two Podcast Channels

AAPACN currently hosts two podcast channels:

LTC DON Chat – This podcast channel discusses topics relevant to directors of nursing (DONs)/directors of nursing services (DNSs), administrators, and other nurse leaders in long-term and post-acute care, such as policy review, process audits, regulatory compliance and changes, survey preparation, staff retention and culture, hiring and onboarding best practices, team empowerment and leadership, and more.

LTC NAC Chat – This podcast channel discusses topics relevant to nurse assessment coordinators (NACs) and other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members in long-term and post-acute care, including MDS and ICD-10 coding tips, PDPM, quality measures, Medicare requirements, care planning, RAI User’s Manual changes, interdisciplinary collaboration, and more.

How to Access the AAPACN Podcasts

Listeners can access the AAPACN podcasts on the AAPACN website—under the Resources tab, under Resources by Type, then by selecting the Podcasts webpage.

New LTC NAC Chat podcasts are also promoted monthly, and sometimes bimonthly, in the AAPACN Leader for the NAC newsletter and new LTC DON Chat podcasts are promoted in the monthly AAPACN Navigator for the DNS newsletter. These newsletters are available exclusively to AAPACN members and are sent out via email on Thursdays.

AAPACN also promotes new podcast episodes on its Facebook, X, and LinkedIn social pages.
